Shimla (HD News): The District Magistrate of Shimla, Anupam Kashyap (IAS), has ordered the closure of all Government and Private educational institutions across the district on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, in view of continuous heavy rainfall and landslides.
According to the order issued by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), the decision covers all schools, colleges, ITIs, polytechnics, Anganwadi centres, and nursing institutes. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy downpour in Shimla for the next 24 hours, which has already led to incidents of landslides, uprooting of trees, and road blockages.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the order has been passed to ensure the safety and security of students. All department heads have been directed to ensure strict compliance with this order.
