Solan (HD News): Following the directives of the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, the Balera Panchayat in Arki Tehsil, Solan district, formed a Drug Prevention Committee on August 25, 2025. The meeting was chaired by Panchayat Pradhan Ashish Kaushal.
Present on the occasion were Deputy Pradhan Lekharaj, BDC member Shashi Kant Sharma, Principal Naresh Thakur, Secretary Dharmendra Sharma, ASHA worker Kanta Devi, social worker Amarnath Kaushal, and Jeet Ram Thakur, who were appointed as committee members. Police constable Vishal Sharma represented the police department in the meeting.
It was unanimously decided that no form of drug use or drug-related activities will be tolerated in the Panchayat area. The Panchayat and the police department will jointly monitor this strictly. Additionally, the committee resolved to conduct comprehensive awareness campaigns at the Panchayat level to keep youth away from drugs.
Notable citizens including Dheeraj Thakur, Priyanka Bhatia, Dev Raj, and Madan Thakur were also present on the occasion.
