The Rotary Club Shimla Hill Queens conducted a special medical camp at Kanda Jail, providing critical healthcare to inmates with the support of cardiology expert Dr. Rajeev Marwaha from IGMC/AIMS. Along with health check-ups, the club extended support by donating hygiene products to women inmates and televisions to improve the jail environment.
Shimla, August 23, 2025. In a remarkable gesture of community service, the Rotary Club Shimla Hill Queens organized a medical camp at Kanda Jail with the support of Dr. Rajeev Marwaha, Professor of Cardiology at IGMC/AIMS. During the camp, a total of 27 cardiac patients were examined, with some referred to IGMC for immediate treatment and further medical investigations.
Hygiene Support for Women Inmates
Alongside the health camp, the club distributed sanitary napkins to 16 female inmates, addressing an essential need and promoting hygiene and women’s health within the prison.
TVs Donated to Jail
The club also donated two second-hand televisions to Kanda Jail, enhancing the environment for inmates by providing them with a source of information and entertainment.
