Colloquium on Spirit of Harmony and Brotherhood

Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh National Law University organised an online colloquium on ‘Spirit of Harmony and Brotherhood’. The Colloquium is a part of series that HPNLU, Shimla has been organising to commemorate the 70th year of the Constitution of India. Learned professionals from the academia and judiciary graced the occasion. 

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Augustine Masih (Judge Panjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh) was the chief guest and other distinguished speakers were Prof. (Dr.) Nishtha Jaswal, Vice Chancellor, HPNLU, Shimla, Prof. Emeritus (Dr) Virendra Kumar, Prof. (Dr.) Kulwant Singh (Jammu University), Prof. (Dr) S.M. Afzal Quadri (Former Dean and Head (Faculty of Law), University of Kashmir. Dr. Chandreshwari Minhas, Assistant Prof., HPNLU, Shimla was the Convener of the Colloquium and Mr Aayush Raj coordinated. Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. (Dr) Nishtha Jaswal welcomed the distinguished speakers. (ADVT2)

The Vice Chancellor in her address laid emphasis on the point that until human beings have engrained in themselves spirit of harmony and brotherhood, they cannot live a life of dignity.

Chief Guest honourable Mr. Justice Augustine George Masih very lucidly laid down the court’s view point about spirit of harmony and brotherhood. Justice Masih further highlighted that rights and duties go hand in hand. Prof. (Dr) S.S. Jaswal, Registrar, HPNLU, Shimla proposed a vote of thanks.

The event witnessed participation from across the country including legal and other institutions, especially social sciences.(ADVT3)
